Cronus Zen Script Not Working? How to Fix It
When a Cronus Zen script does nothing in game, it is almost always one of six things: the Zen is on another slot, a locked script is waiting for its code, the mod you want starts off, the script's layout settings don't match your game, the game is set to a different input, or the controller isn't getting through the Zen at all. Check them in that order.
Is the script running?
Look at the Zen's screen, not the TV.
| The Zen's screen shows | What it means | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| The Gearhead logo | No script is running, so your controller passes through unchanged | Press the right blue button on the Zen until your script shows |
| Another script's screen | Another slot is loaded | Press the right blue button again |
| A code screen | The script is locked, and nothing reaches the console until its code is accepted | Type the code with your controller: enter-key |
| The script's menu | The menu is open. In cronus2K nothing reaches the game until it closes | Close it: Circle (B on Xbox) in cronus2K, or the button on the script page |
| Your script's own screen | It is running | Work through the checks below |
A slot that will not load, a stack or bytecode error, or a Zen that freezes needs a hard-reset.
The controller does nothing at all
If the console's own menus ignore your controller too, the problem is the connection, not the script.
- CONSOLE/PC goes into the console and the controller into A1. PROG passes nothing through to a console.
- PS5: the Zen needs a Zen Link, or the bypass, which has to be redone each time, and Communication Method set to Use USB Cable either way (ps5).
- Xbox: set the output protocol to
Xbox One X/Sand keep an Xbox controller in A1. If it stops responding, unplug both cables from the Zen, wait a few seconds and plug them back in with the controller still connected (xbox).
The script runs but nothing happens in game
- The mod starts off. Anti recoil starts off in NEBULA, Unreal and Panda Raiders, and Veritas' Attackers starts every operator at 0. Open the menu (script-menu) and switch on what you want.
- The layout doesn't match your game. Ghost and Rainbow Reaper ask for Btn L and Stk L to match your in-game layout, PandaAim for Button and Stick Layout, and yewFN for Fortnite binds such as Edit on L3 and Crouch on R3. Set these first.
- The game is set to a different input. NBA 2K27 scripts that shoot with the right stick need stick shooting usable in 2K27's controller settings. cronus2K's RHYTHM and HOLD styles need rhythm shooting on the right stick, because Square never reaches the game in those styles.
- You aren't holding what the mod waits for. Most anti recoil runs only while you aim and fire together, and Cards' Rust waits until both triggers are past 70%.
- The script needs rumble. PandaAim needs vibration on for its Strafe Assist and Boost. A DualSense on Bluetooth to the Zen has no rumble, so wire it.
It worked before and stopped
- The settings went back to default. Some scripts don't save to the Zen, so their values reset at power-off. Bunnies' Rust is one, and Avenged's MVP Aim turns its extras off again.
- Another script's settings are on the slot. Saved values stay on a slot when you program a different script over it, and a script can start with odd settings it read from them. Use the script's own reset (cronus2K: System > Reset All), or do a hard-reset, which wipes every script and setting, and program it again.
- The PS5 bypass wore off. It does not stay set, so a controller that keeps disconnecting on PS5 needs it redone, or a Zen Link.
- The game changed. A new game or a big weapon patch changes what a script was tuned for. Program the new build when its maker uploads one; it replaces the old one in its slot.
Shots green offline but miss online
That is online delay, not a broken script. A timing script holds the shot for a set number of milliseconds, and online play moves the moment 2K wants. cronus2K adds its Ping value, 0 to 300 ms, to every window, and several other NBA 2K27 scripts have a latency or ping setting. How to set it: How a 2K27 auto green Zen script times your shot.
The script never went on
- Nothing is written until you press Program in Studio, and the Zen has to stay plugged in until it says it is done.
- Your own
.gpcfile did not compile: Show details gives the line to fix (make-a-script). - Every other message: errors.
In Fortnite
Epic has prohibited the Cronus Zen in Fortnite since 2022. A player using one can get a warning and must remove it to keep playing. Details: bans.
Still stuck? Ask in Support Chat with the script's name, your console and what the Zen's screen shows.
