Zen Link status light

Never unplug the Zen Link while the light is steady blue: it is installing an update.

Normal start

From plug-in to ready: cyan, yellow, blue, two green flashes, then a steady dim white.

Starting up

  • Cyan, steady: powering on.
  • Yellow, steady for 1 second: saved Native Mode restored.
  • Green, one flash: healthy, but Native Mode has not been set up with a PS5 yet.

Wi-Fi

  • Blue, slow fade: connecting to the stored Wi-Fi.
  • Blue, blinking once a second: needs Wi-Fi. Set it up in the Zenlink app.
  • Green, two flashes: on Wi-Fi and ready.
  • Orange, two flashes: Wi-Fi rejected the saved details. It restarts into setup, so check the password.
  • Dim white, steady: idle, all fine.

PS5 Native Mode

  • Magenta, two flashes: Native Mode request arrived.
  • Magenta, slow fade: getting the request ready.
  • Magenta, fast blink: working on the request.
  • Light green, three flashes: request done and saved for a quicker start next time.
  • Light green, two flashes: started from the saved, faster Native Mode.

Updates

  • Blue, fast blink: downloading an update. You can keep playing.
  • Blue, steady for up to about 45 seconds: installing. It may look frozen, then restarts itself. Do not unplug.
  • Green, steady then a restart: update installed.
  • Orange, three flashes: update failed. It stays on the current version and retries later. Repeated failures point to your internet connection.

Red, short blinks

Native Mode failed: count one group of blinks, wait about 10 seconds for it to clear, then try again.

  • 2 blinks: no clock time from the internet. Check the connection; restricted networks may block time lookups.
  • 3 blinks: the Native Mode request failed to prepare. Retry, and report it in Support Chat if it happens again.
  • 4 blinks: no internet. Check the connection, then retry. The most frequent code.
  • 5 blinks: Native Mode did not switch on. Retry, and report it in Support Chat if it keeps happening.

Red, long blinks

The Zen Link has halted, and these stay until you act.

  • 2 long blinks: storage would not start. Unplug it and reconnect. If the code returns, it needs a reflash, so contact Support Chat.
  • 3 long blinks: its identity data is missing. There is no home fix: send the serial number to Support Chat.

Dark or not listed

  • No light at all: no power. Try another USB port or cable.
  • Any other pattern: write down the colour, fast or slow, and the blink count in one group, then send it to Support Chat.

Config button

  • Tap: next brightness level (dim, four steps, max, off). A restart sets it back to dim.
  • Off hides the light only; nothing else changes.
  • Hold 5 seconds: start Wi-Fi setup over Bluetooth.
