Using an NBA 2K27 Zen script on Xbox Series X|S

NBA 2K27 is on Xbox Series X|S, and a Zen script runs on the Cronus Zen rather than the console, so every NBA 2K27 script in our catalogue works there. Xbox is the simpler console to connect: there is no bypass and no Zen Link, just one setting in Zen Studio and the right controller in the right port. What catches Xbox players out is the button names, because script menus and the Zen's own screen use PlayStation names.

What you need

  • An Xbox Series X or Series S. NBA 2K27 isn't on Xbox One.
  • An Xbox controller. The Series X|S controller (model 1914), the Xbox One controllers (1537, 1697 and 1708) and the Elite Series 1 (1698) and Series 2 (1797) are on the supported list for Series X|S.
  • A USB cable, or the Xbox Wireless Adapter, for the controller. Xbox controllers never connect to the Zen by Bluetooth.
  • A computer with Chrome, Edge or Opera and a USB data cable, to program the script and to set the output protocol once.

Xbox controllers with the same name can differ in support. The Series X|S version is the one with a Capture button. The rest of the list, including PowerA, Razer, Turtle Beach and Victrix pads, is in supported controllers.

Set the output protocol once

The Zen has to be told it is talking to an Xbox. Plug its PROG port into your computer, open Collective Minds' Zen Studio in Chrome, press Connect Device and pick Cronus Bridge. In the Device Panel, set Emulator Output Protocol to Xbox One X/S. That one value covers both Xbox One and Series X|S, and the output protocol guide lists the values for other consoles.

That is the only step on Xbox that uses Zen Studio. Programming the script doesn't: the Studio on this site does it from Chrome, Edge or Opera, and the sealed .cz files the site makes only load here.

Which port takes what on Xbox

Port on the ZenOn Xbox
PROG (side)Your computer, to program a script or set the output protocol.
CONSOLE/PC (back)The Xbox.
A1Your Xbox controller by USB. Wait a few seconds for it to turn on and sync. With a crossover controller it stays here as the AUTH controller.
A2Your Xbox controller, by cable, only while you pair it to the Xbox Wireless Adapter.
A3The Xbox Wireless Adapter, or a controller from another console with the Xbox controller left in A1.

To play wireless, plug the Xbox Wireless Adapter into A3, plug the controller into A2 with a cable, wait a few seconds, then unplug the cable and wait for the adapter's light to stop blinking and turn solid white. A PlayStation controller works on Xbox too as a crossover, as long as an Xbox controller stays in A1 the whole time. The Xbox guide and wireless controllers have the full steps.

PlayStation names on an Xbox controller

Script menus, descriptions and the Zen's screen use PlayStation names, even on Xbox. Here is what each one means on your controller.

In the scriptOn your Xbox controller
SquareX
CrossA
CircleB
TriangleY
L1 and R1LB and RB
L2 and R2LT and RT
L3 and R3Left and right stick click (LS and RS)
Share (Create on a DualSense)View, the button with two squares
OPTIONSMenu, the button with three lines

The X catch. The Zen's screen draws PlayStation icons, so PRESS X on the screen means Cross, which is A on your controller. When an Xbox player says X, they mean Square, which is the shot button in cronus2K and in many 2K27 scripts. So a script that says to shoot with Square means X, and a screen that says to press X means A.

Menus open with LT and Menu. Hold LT down first, then press Menu. cronus2K's menu opens this way, as do the scripts marked so in the table below. In cronus2K, View doesn't open the menu: holding LT and then holding View for more than half a second switches the script off or on instead.

cronus2K's own buttons can be moved in its menu, but never to LT, RT, View or Menu, never two on the same button, and on Xbox never to the touchpad.

Each NBA 2K27 script's menu on Xbox

All 27 NBA 2K27 scripts in our catalogue run on Xbox Series X|S, because none of them is tied to a console. The menu column comes from each script's own description: 22 of them open with LT and Menu. Where a description doesn't say, the script's page does.

Common Xbox problems

The controller doesn't respond through the Zen

Leave the Xbox controller plugged into the Zen the whole time; only the cables come out. Unplug the CONSOLE/PC and PROG cables, give the Zen a few seconds to switch off, then plug each cable back into the port it came from. Still unresponsive? Hold the controller's Xbox button to turn it on. If that fails, do a hard reset and start again. The same steps are in Xbox controller not connecting.

Nothing works, moving included

If the controller can't move your player either, the problem is the controller or the connection, not the script. Check the controller is in A1 by USB and the output protocol is Xbox One X/S, then follow the Xbox controller fix above.

The script's menu won't open

Make sure the Zen is on the slot you programmed: its right blue button moves to the next slot, and the logo screen means no script is running. Then hold LT fully down first and press Menu. Pressing Menu before LT, or barely touching the trigger, does nothing, and View doesn't open cronus2K's menu.

Typing a key code with an Xbox controller

On a license key screen the Zen draws an X, which is Cross, so press A to bring up the letter grid and A again to type each letter. B deletes a letter and Y starts again. The steps are in how to enter a license key.

A Scuf or GameSir controller won't work

A Scuf Instinct or Instinct Pro works only after flashing stock Xbox firmware, for example with driftguard.app. A GameSir G7 SE needs a one-time setup in the GameSir Nexus app first, and a GameSir T7 has its own fix for missing headset audio. Both are in GameSir on Xbox.

Still stuck? Ask in Support Chat, say you are on Xbox, and include what the Zen's screen shows.

Xbox questions

Does an NBA 2K27 Zen script work on Xbox One?

NBA 2K27 isn't on Xbox One, so there is nothing to run it on there. The scripts run on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC, and Xbox One controllers still work on Series X|S through the Zen.

Can I use a PS5 controller on Xbox with a Zen?

Yes, as a crossover controller. Keep an Xbox controller in A1 as the AUTH controller the whole time and plug the PlayStation controller into A3.

Do I need a Zen Link on Xbox?

No. Zen Link and the bypass are PS5 steps. On Xbox you set the output protocol once and plug the controller into A1.

Can an Xbox controller connect to the Zen by Bluetooth?

No. Through the Zen, Xbox controllers connect by USB or the Xbox Wireless Adapter only.
